City of New York Board Board of Education

In 1995, The New York City school board asked BearingPoint to develop a school-based budget reporting system (SBRS) that could produce a full accounting of the school system’s spending. In just seven months, we completed the SBRS and its database. Then we migrated the SBRS from a mainframe environment to a Windows NT/Oracle environment.

Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA)

Defending Budgets with Activity-Based Costing and Management
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) directs all Department of Defense (DoD) security cooperation programs, including the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program - the sale of military hardware and services to allied and friendly foreign governments - and International Military Education and Training (IMET) programs - the training of foreign forces by U.S. military personnel. DSCA needed to develop improved cost measures that would enable heightened visibility into the costs of its core functions across all military departments. The agency hired BearingPoint to implement enterprisewide costing tools grounded in activity-based costing and management (ABC/M) methodologies. Our work empowered DSCA to identify current and projected costs more accurately, justify its budgets to federal regulatory agencies, and identify areas for cost savings and process improvement.

Duke University Health Care

Shortly after creating its centralized health system, Duke University realized the need to develop a single, automated business system across the entire organization. BearingPoint’s implementation of SAP R/3 improved standardization of supplies, enabled enterprise-based purchasing of maintenance and other services, improved inventory control, consolidated accounts payable functions, and provided instant access to data.

University Hospitals Health Systems

U.S. Army National Guard

Western Digital Corporation

Working with BearingPoint, Western Digital developed their Quality Information System (QIS), the first data warehousing application of its kind. QIS combines eCommerce, customer relationship management, data warehousing, and integrated data from a dozen disparate systems.

Yale University
