![]() Systems Integration, Processes Automation, Oracle ImplementationMontana Integrated System to Improve Customer Services (MISTICS)The ClientThe Unemployment Insurance program provides short-term economic assistance to eligible workers from the Montana Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund financed by employers. The Unemployment Insurance system is designed to help stabilize the economy by preventing a sharp drop in consumer spending during periods of unemployment. Montana Unemployment Insurance Division (UID) implemented a new custom-built Unemployment Insurance benefits system called MISTICS for recording, accounting, and payment of unemployment insurance claims. The ChallengeUID called on BearingPoint to assist with the implementation and training on the MISTICS project. The system prior to MISTICS was an aging system with patchwork databases that were not properly integrated. Information needed to be made readily available; more processes needed to be automated in order to improve information retrieval and customer service. UID also wanted to utilize new technology specifically in areas of document management, workflow automation, imaging and Web-based reporting. The SolutionBearingPoint’s knowledge of UID’s business processes and emerging technology helped streamline the implementation and training with MISTICS. BearingPoint sent a group with in-depth knowledge of Oracle and other necessary technologies to team up with UID in Helena, Montana and continues to have established presence in order to best serve UID’s needs. The BenefitsMISTICS improves productivity of UID’s staff. They have more time to spend face-to-face with clients and less time spent looking for files. With imaging, streamlined report processes, centralized databases and other integrated technologies, MISTICS is an obvious success through the simplification of previously complex processes. |
